The certificate program “TUM.wood – Building with Wood” brings you the latest ecological, economic, technical and architectural expertise in modern wood construction.
TUM experts provide participants with a practical understanding of the topic, enabling them to understand the requirements of planning and building with wood and how to implement them professionally. The course covers the topics of architecture, construction and surrounding regulations as well as examining wood construction-specific planning processes, life cycle assessment and recycling management.
The TUM.wood continuing education program was launched by the network of the same name. TUM.wood is a cooperation of eleven professorships of the Technical University of Munich. The unifying vision is to make greater use of the material’s potential, to strengthen its contribution to the responsible use of available resources, and to point the way to a new age of wood. The technical, architectural, ecological and economic possibilities of one of the world’s most important renewable raw materials will be examined along its entire value chain. From its origins in the forest to timber harvesting and processing, from its use in construction to recycling strategies.
