The Certificate Program in Financial & Risk Management equips you with a comprehensive understanding of essential aspects in risk management, financial and sustainability accounting. The program covers International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the relevant requirements in sustainability accounting including the Corporate Social Responsibility Directive, European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), and the EU Taxonomy. You will gain insights into the underlying principles of modern reporting to investors and other stakeholders.
After participating in this module, you will be able to
- Assess financial and non-financial reports.
- Understand the most important mathematical concepts of risk management.
- Develop easy tools for efficient quantitative risk management.
- Apply basic methods of risk management to different situations as well as understand, monitor, and control financial processes within organizations.
- Discuss the underlying principles of financial statements under IFRS and of social and environmental reports under European regulations.
- Identify earnings management and greenwashing by companies.
You will put theory into practice: In different risk management case studies, you will learn about the historical background of important failures in financial history, the evolution and the mathematical background of the risks involved, while getting a hands-on experience by implementing and discussing each case.
